[Mobile] game on

According to Gartner, worldwide mobile gaming revenue is on pace to total $4.5 billion in 2008 (16.1% increase from 2007). The Asia-Pacific region (including Japan) represents by far the largest market for mobile gaming, with end-user spending forecast to total $2.3 billion in 2008 and reach $3.4 billion by 2011. The mobile-game market will for some time keep outshoning the PC and console game market in the emerging territories of Asia largely because of the low penetration of PCs.
Sony Ericsson F305 Manufacturers are keen to capitalize on the trend. They are even launching dedicated gaming handset (with a control pad and motion sensor). They are followed by network operators. China Mobile just completed the beta test of nine online games for handsets. Not bad considering that they control the charging channel.
P.S.: A 3G streaming services provider (Vollee) announced last week a mobile open beta application for Second Life
